Modernized system name is announced

High Touch President/CEO Wayne Chambers announced in the General Session at the High Touch Users’ Conference May 5 – 7 in Wichita that the best of both system will be named Cynergi.

The meaning of the name Cynergi comes from the definition of the word synergy: The idea that the value and performance of two companies combined will be greater than the sum of the separate individual parts.

Please join High Touch and RSSS in welcoming the Cynergi point-of-sale system to our line of products and services.

Centralized Server Architecture

Since High Touch’s first announcement of modernization – at our 2008 Users’ Conference – there has been a lot of discussion about what type of architecture would carry forward the point-of-sale application.  The current architecture of PRO/Store is a distributed model.  This simply means that the data and application resides at each store location.  Those using the current application are familiar with nightly backups,  the end-of-day process and nightly data transmissions to assure the home office receives the daily transactions of each store.

In the new centralized model, the data and application reside in a “central” location.  The central location could be at a client’s home office or may even reside off-site at a co-location for additional protection from natural disasters.  In either case, this model supports many opportunities for rent-to-own dealers that want to view data in real-time.  Stores can view other stores within the organization to manage skip/stolen accounts, take customer payments in any store location, and home offices can in “real-time” see which stores are the top performers. The centralized model was chosen with our users’ best interest in mind.  The features received from moving to a centralized model will result in labor savings, greater customization opportunities, and improved reporting capabilities.
